GUIDELINES FOR BOOTHS OR DISPLAYS

Welcome to the collective! To create a high-end shopping experience for our customers and ensure we meet all local building and safety codes, we ask that all vendors adhere to the following design standards.

Defining Your Space

(The "No Walls" Policy)

Because we prioritize an open, airy boutique atmosphere (and to remain compliant with fire safety regulations), permanent solid walls are not permitted between booths.

  • Approved Dividers: Use low-profile furniture (under 4 feet tall), open-back shelving units (like the IKEA Kallax), or decorative floor-to-ceiling mesh/wire grid panels that allow for light and airflow.
  • Floor Definition: We strongly encourage the use of an area rug to define your "room." Rugs should fit entirely within your marked booth boundaries and be secured with non-slip padding or floor-safe tape.

Height & Sightlines

To keep the store feeling spacious and to ensure every vendor is visible to customers:

  • Center Floor Booths: All displays and fixtures must remain below 5 feet in height.
  • Perimeter (Wall) Booths: Tall shelving and backdrops are permitted up to 7 feet, provided they are secured safely to the wall or weighted properly.
  • The "Rule of Air": No solid fabric, ceilings, or tarps may be draped over the top of a booth, as this can interfere with the building’s security systems.

Aesthetic Standards

We want your brand to shine! However, a few rules keep the collective looking professional:

  • Professional Signage: Hand-written cardboard signs are not permitted. Please use high-quality printed signs, chalkboard art, or wooden plaques.
  • Fixtures: Use professional-grade shelving, vintage furniture, or industrial racks. Please avoid unfinished plastic storage bins or raw plywood unless it is part of a deliberate "industrial" design.
  • Lighting: You are welcome to add battery-operated LED puck lights or clip-on lamps to highlight your products. All cords must be tucked away or covered with a cord protector to prevent tripping.

Inventory & Maintenance

  • The "Goldilocks" Rule: Keep your booth stocked but not "cluttered." A booth that is too full is difficult to shop; a booth that is too empty looks neglected.
  • Floor Safety: All merchandise must stay within your designated floor markings. Please do not "creep" into the aisles, as we must maintain a clear path for customer traffic.

Pro-Tip for Vendors:

Think of your booth as a "mini-boutique" rather than a shelf. Using a mix of heights—placing items on a table, hanging items on a grid, and using a small floor riser—creates visual interest that draws customers in!
